Each year, the Case Alumni Association honors alumni, friends and faculty whose talents and accomplishments have brought honor and distinction to the Case School of Engineering or the math and applied science programs at Case Western Reserve University. Many are leaders in their fields and in their communities. All have exhibited a willingness to serve and to share.
Silver Bowl Award
The Silver Bowl is awarded annually and represents the highest honor bestowed by the Case Alumni Association. It is bestowed occasionally to someone who has provided exemplary service to Case. The award, which traces to the Case Institute of Technology, was resurrected in 2007 to recognize outstanding support and achievement.
Gold Medal Award
The Gold Medal is the highest honor bestowed annually by the Case Alumni Association. It recognizes alumni who have achieved extraordinary distinction and made a major contribution to the fields of science, engineering or management that adds to the welfare of the United States and reflects credit upon Case.
Samuel Givelber '23 Award
The Samuel Givelber ’23 Award was established in 1988 to honor Samuel Givelber, a former president of the Case Alumni Association who described the CAA as “the world’s greatest fellowship.” The award is bestowed upon a Case alumnus who exemplifies Sam’s spirit of fellowship and human kindness as well as his willingness to serve the community.
Meritorious Service Award
Meritorious service awards honor exemplary service to the Case Alumni Association, the Case School of Engineering, or the mathematics and sciences of Case Western Reserve University. This includes faithful and continuing efforts to maintain class or alumni organizations, active participation in alumni or college affairs, leadership in professional fields, support of the Case Fund® and assistance in expanding the usefulness, influence and prestige of Case.
Young Alumni Leadership Award
The Young Alumni Leadership Award honors an outstanding graduate of the Case School of Engineering from the last decade. He or she must have demonstrated invaluable service to the Case Alumni Association, the Case School of Engineering and the community through leadership, participation and support.
