The Case Alumni Association supports more than two dozen student groups and organizations that enhance a Case education by offering hands-on engineering experience, competition, professional development, networking and fun. The clubs range from the venerable Case Men’s Glee Club—the oldest student group at CWRU—to the hugely popular robotics team (CWRUbotix) and the increasingly impactful Humanitarian Design Corps.
You can learn more about engineering-focused student groups in the stories on this page. Or, visit the YourCase/YourChoice campaign, to find student groups that are raising funds for specific causes.
If you’re a student group leader seeking support from the alumni association, the Request for Funding section at the bottom of this page will guide you through the process.
If you’re a Case graduate or a friend, supporting a student group is a great way to give back while helping launch the next generation of Case scientists and engineers. You’ll be helping groups like these:
Requests for student organization funding occurs each fall via email call outs from the Case Alumni Foundation. To receive financial support from the Case Alumni Foundation, student organizations with engineering and science initiatives are asked to make presentations each year to members of the Case Alumni Foundation Board and ask for funding to help cover the expenses of designing, building and implementing of specific project(s), conference(s), or event(s).

Each year, the Case Alumni Foundation helps fund approximately 30 student awards of up to $3,500 each for undergraduate students enrolled in the following summer research programs: Support of Undergraduate Research and Creative Endeavors (SOURCE) and Summer Undergraduate Research in Energy and Sustainability (SURES). These programs provide students the opportunity for cross-disciplinary collaboration and the ability to see the breadth of research across the campus.
This is an extraordinary opportunity for undergraduate students to experience real-world research practices relevant to a variety of professional fields. Students do hands-on work in labs across campus and throughout University Circle, working closely with graduate students and professors on projects most undergraduates typically wouldn’t experience until pursuing higher degrees or working in professional research teams.
Students interested in enrolling in SOURCE or SURES and receiving funding for research must apply through:
